A tagline is a simple phrase serving to catch the consumer’s attention and stick in his or her memory. In British English, taglines are called endlines or straplines. Taglines can be seen as very close to a slogan, but a tag line is usually permanent for a brand, whereas a slogan promotes a particular product or campaign. Some very popular and successful taglines through the years have included “Where’s the beef?” (Wendy’s, comparing the size of their burgers to those of the competition), “Think Different” (Apple), “I’m lovin’ it!” (McDonald’s), and “M’m! M’m! Good!” (Campbell’s Soup).
