Liquidity is a measure of how easy it is to buy or sell an asset.
I know you want to sell the house as soon as possible, but there simply isn’t sufficient liquidity on the market right now. You can either wait a little longer or you can try reducing the price.
The term liquidity and its derivatives may be used in various contexts with slightly different but related meanings. When an entity is described as “liquid”, it means that it has sufficient amounts of cash at its disposal. When an asset is described as “liquid”, it means that it can readily be exchanged for cash. Market liquidity describes the ease with which assets may be bought or sold on a given market. In accounting, cash and cash equivalents may also be referred to as liquidity because they are the most liquid assets and enable the given entity to perform short-term transactions.
Likvidita je míra toho, jak snadné je prodat nebo koupit aktivum.
Vím, že chcete ten dům prodat co nejdříve, ale na trhu zkrátka zrovna není dostatečná likvidita. Můžete buď počkat trochu déle, nebo zkusit snížit cenu.
Termín likvidita a jeho odvozeniny se používají v různých kontextech s poněkud odlišnými, ale souvisejícími významy. Když se o nějaké osobě řekne, že je „likvidní“, znamená to, že má k dispozici dostatečné množství hotovosti. Když se „likvidní“ použije jako popis aktiva, znamená to, že je lze snadno směnit za hotovost. Tržní likvidita popisuje, jak snadno se na daném trhu mohou kupovat nebo prodávat aktiva. V účetnictví se peníze a peněžní ekvivalenty mohou také nazývat likvidita, protože jsou to nejlikvidnější aktiva a umožňují dané osobě provádět krátkodobé transakce.
