Green building refers both to environmentally friendly structures and to the process of building them in a sustainable manner.
Bolt Logistics’ new headquarters in Prague is a LEED-certified green building and offers excellent accessibility both by car and by public transportation.
The objective of green building is to minimize negative environmental impacts of building construction and operation while ideally bringing also positive impacts. This can be achieved by utilizing sustainable construction materials and methods, optimizing the building’s energy efficiency (e.g., for heating, air-conditioning, and lighting), potentially designing the building as energy-positive (i.e., to produce more energy than it consumes), incorporating vegetation into the architecture to help improve air quality and water retention while reducing temperatures. The design of green buildings should also strive to improve the quality of life of their occupants.

Cílem zelené stavby je minimalizovat negativní dopady na životní prostředí z výstavby a provozu budovy, a zároveň ideálně přinést pozitivní dopady. Toho lze dosáhnout použitím udržitelných stavebních materiálů a postupů, optimalizací energetické efektivnosti budovy (např. na vytápění, klimatizaci a osvětlení), potenciálně navržením budovy jako energeticky pozitivní (tj. aby produkovala více energie, než spotřebuje), zahrnutím vegetace do architektury, což pomáhá zlepšovat kvalitu vzduchu, zadržovat vodu a zároveň snižovat teplotu. Design zelených budov by se také měl snažit zlepšovat kvalitu života jejich obyvatel.
