The European Central Bank conducts monetary policy for those EU states that have adopted the euro as their currency.
The European Central Bank is currently pursuing expansive monetary policy in response to economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The European Central Bank (ECB) takes care of the EU’s common currency, manages currency reserves, decides about issuing money, and outlines and executes the EU’s common economic and monetary policy. It serves as a central bank for those countries that have adopted the euro. EU countries which do not use the euro as their currency are members of the so-called European System of Central Banks (all EU-members’ central banks + ECB) but not of the so-called Eurosystem (central banks of EU countries using the euro + ECB). The ECB’s main task is defined as maintaining price stability.

V reakci na ekonomické dopady pandemie Covid-19 provádí v současnosti Evropská centrální banka expanzivní měnovou politiku.
Evropská centrální banka (ECB) se stará o společnou měnu Evropské unie, spravuje její měnové rezervy, rozhoduje o emisi peněz a určuje a provádí společnou hospodářskou a měnovou politiku. Slouží jako centrální banka pro země, které přijaly euro. Země EU, které nepoužívají euro jako svou měnu, jsou členy tzv. Evropského systému centrálních bank (centrální banky všech členských zemí EU + ECB), nikoli však tzv. Eurosystému (centrální banky zemí EU používajících euro + ECB). Hlavní úkol ECB je definován jako udržování cenové stability.
