Bullion /

Kov ve slitcích

Business Term of the Day

Definition

The term bullion refers to precious metals in the processed forms of ingots or bars and which are traded on commodities markets.

Example sentence

The demand for both bullion and jewelry has seen a sharp increase ahead of the Indian wedding season and Hindu religious festivals that begin in September.

Comment

Precious metals traded include gold, silver, platinum and palladium, among others. When they are cast into ingots or bars, they become bullion. Purity and mass are the main categories according to which the value of bullion is measured. Coins minted from precious metals are not usually referred to as bullion. Some investors purchase bullion as a hedge against inflation.

Definice

Obchodované drahé kovy zahrnují, kromě jiných, zlato, stříbro, platinu a palladium.
